Foodbuy completes Duchenne Dash and raises over £90k for charity

A team of 13 amateur cyclists from Foodbuy, took on the gruelling Duchenne Dash bike ride from London to Paris, raising more than £90,000 for charity partner, Duchenne UK along the way.

Covering almost 200 miles, the Duchenne Dash is a 24 hour bike ride from London to Paris. This year’s event, which started on June 9, saw 150 cyclists from across the UK pass through some of the most rural areas of France before finishing at the Eiffel Tower.

Earlier this year, Foodbuy announced its partnership with Duchenne UK, the leading charity working towards accelerating treatments and finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy; the most common fatal genetic disease diagnosed in childhood.

With an initial fundraising target of £50,000, Foodbuy set about raising money through a number of different activities including; hosting a gala dinner at the Kia Oval in London, running culinary masterclasses and office bake sales and selling sponsorship space on their cycling uniforms – bringing the overall fundraising total to £92,000.
