Foodbuy and Elis form strategic partnership

Foodbuy, a leading group procurement organisation, has formed a strategic partnership with Elis, an international multi-service provider, in a five-year deal.

As part of the deal, Elis will be supporting Foodbuy by working with its clients, including Foodbuy’s parent company and largest client, Compass Group UK & Ireland, to provide a first-class managed textile service. The partnership follows a robust three-month tender process.

The partnership will see Elis provide a full range of hospitality laundry services, including rental and maintenance of chefs’ uniforms, kitchen porter uniforms, table linen, event linen, kitchenware and laundry services for more than 600 locations in the UK, including corporate catering, schools, universities and sports & leisure sites.

Elis is a market leader, operating in more than 28 countries, directly sourcing its garments from manufacturers and offering full supply chain transparency. Elis has invested in radio-frequency identification (RFID) and barcoding technology to allow Foodbuy and its clients to more efficiently manage and track inventory, no matter where a garment is in the supply chain.

Ian Murphy, Managing Director of Foodbuy said: “We’re really excited to be forming a strategic partnership with Elis. They’re a multi-service provider which means they can accommodate a wide range of requests, but they also offer tailor-made solutions. This means we can provide our clients with a more efficient service, saving them both time and money, whilst helping them focus on their core businesses.

Sam Morton, Commercial Director at Elis, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Foodbuy’s partner to provide chefs’ wear and linen rental and laundry services to its clients, including Compass Group UK & Ireland. Our network of industrial laundries and delivery fleets, across the UK and Ireland, together with our use of most efficient processes and technologies, means we can deliver the reliable and flexible service that catering businesses require.”
